Description

Born in Glasgow,the son of the celebrated marine artist Colin Hunter, he studied at the Royal Academy Schools and began exhibiting Pre-Raphaelite inspired pictures at the Royal Academy from 1895. In 1913, after living in Suffolk for many years, he and his wife moved to America, where he achieved fame with paintings of native Americans and the pioneers of the Santa Fe Trail.He died in Taos, New Mexico.
